Compact Canister Vacuums

When it comes to ultra-compact canister vacuums, Electrolux has a variety of quality models in their inventory. One group of such vacuums is called the Condo Series and includes the Electrolux ErgoSpace, the Electrolux Ultra Silencer Green and the all-new Electrolux ErgoSpace Green.
Each of these compact canisters was created with the urban resident in mind, and is ideal for compact living spaces. Each unit in this series of canister vacuums includes features such as soft wheels, insulated motor and a low-noise floor nozzle, all of which makes them exceptionally quiet. Each of these powerful units also include telescoping wands and above floor tool attachments for additional reach in those tight areas. All three machines operate with a HEPA filter that isolates 99.97% of dust and allergens.
The following is a brief overview of each of these models, and the unique characteristics for each.
Electrolux Ultra Silencer Green:
This is the base model in the series that includes all the features detailed above. In addition, more than half of the plastic on this model is produced from recycled resources, and 80% of the packaging is also made from recycled material.
Electrolux ErgoSpace:
The Electrolux ErgoSpace was designed to include all of the characteristics described above, as well as a number of additional features. These add-ons include an Ergoshock bumper for wall protection, Electronic Dust Bag Indicator that displays when the bag needs to be replaced, and a Versatile Aero tool that functions as a dusting brush, crevice tool and upholstery tool. This particular model was not designed as a “green” model like the Ultra Silencer, because it is not made from recycled materials.
The Electrolux ErgoSpace Green is the newest in the series and offers the best of both worlds with respect to the Electrolux ErgoSpace and Electrolux Ultra Silencer Green. This unit includes all of the same features and functionality of the Electrolux ErgoSpace, however it is also constructed from recycled plastic and uses recycled material for packaging.
The Condo Series of canisters is a fantastic line of products from Electrolux. It’s refreshing that the designers are concerned with the cleanliness of our planet as well as our personal spaces.

How to Keep Your Vacuum in Good Repair

A good vacuum cleaner will last around 8 to 12 years.  It is a good idea to maintain and repair your vacuum often. If your vacuum is not functioning well the first thing to do is to identify the problem and then know what part needs replacement. Replacement parts are not that expensive. Your manual may have instructions on how to remove and replace your parts. To check your machine, make sure it is unplugged.  The most common parts that need repair are the hose, belt, switches and brush roll.  Inspect the hose, wand and cleaning tools to locate any obstructions.  Debris often collects where one part plugs into another. Remove the parts one at a time. Push a broom handle through the hose and wand.  Look for cracks in the vacuum hose which can cause air leaks. Check the bag and clean or replace all filters.  Replace belts, in connecting a new belt you will need to remove the roller from the vacuum cleaner. Check to make sure the brush roll is spinning....

Electrolux Silverado Vacuum Cleaner

Although the vacuum of my childhood is now gone I am finding that many people still have this machine in working order. The Electrolux Silverado Vacuum was Electrolux's flagship model from 1982-1984 and for many is the vacuum of the past and present. Having worked at a vacuum shop who's top selling brand is Electrolux, I see why people are attached to their vacuum or the vacuum of their parents. The all metal canister was built to last. The stylish silver-gray with light gray trimmings was an easy sale for door to door salesmen of the day. My mother and father had purchased this vacuum along with a shampoo machine. It was bit heavier than today's plastic canister vacuum but narrower and easy to store. No damage could be done to it. My mother would have me vacuum with from time to time and I remember it being smooth and quiet. I also remember being fascinated by the power nozzle's spinning brush and the suction in general. There were always carpet in my home as a ch...

Central Vacuum Cleaners

Central vacuum cleaners also referred to as a built in vacuum cleaners consist of a vacuum power unit which is typically installed in a utility room, garage, or closet; and a 30-35 foot hose which is plugged into a inlet valve which is in the wall or floor; you can then attach any vacuum cleaner attachment to the end of the hose, such as a power nozzle, floor brush, dusting tool, upholstery tool, and crevice tool. Central vacuum cleaners are more effective than traditional HEPA filters, if they are exhausted outdoors. Therefore there will be no emission emitted back into your indoor environment, leaving you a cleaner healthier home. The dirt travels through the wall and collects into a drum which is part of the power unit, and is typically empitied on a semi-annual basis. Central Vacuum Cleaners can be installed in both new construction and existing homes.
