Sanitaire Mighty Mite SC3863A

Today we helped a customer find bags for their  Sanitaire Mighty Mite SC3683A vacuum cleaner. Trying to figure out what bags fit your current vacuum cleaner is sometimes confusing. The easiest way to figure out what style vacuum cleaner bag fits your vacuum cleaner is to read the current bag inside the machine. Most brands will write the bag style or number on the vacuum bag itself. For example, in helping this customer with her vacuum cleaner bags, the style of the bag was printed right on the top of the vacuum bag. If there is nothing on the vacuum bag itself, the next step is to look for the model number of the vacuum. On most vacuums this number is printed on the back or bottom of the machine on a silver sticker. After you locate the model number of your vacuum cleaner, the next step is using evacuumstore.com's search by model number option inside each brands page. Evacuumstore.com offers bags, filters, hoses, and much much more for this Sanitaire SC3683A. After helping this c

Austin Air Purifier

Blue collar guy from Boston putting his two cents in for the Austin air systems air purifier model AA-HM400-3.  First off I was really a skeptic about getting an air purifier but the girlfriend finally broke me down and I bought one, unfortunately a great decision which I will never live down.  I live in a garden level apartment with a low amount of air flow and it has always felt little stuffy no matter how well it was cleaned.   I am not going to say it worked perfectly and instantly from the start because it didn’t, it took over two days to get a noticeable difference.  Now I run this thing all day everyday and it just makes my house nicer to come home to.  The unit is also small, about the size of an end table and it comes in black to match most of my furniture.  The best part of this purchase is I don’t have to change a filter for five years or worry about any parts and labor. Now there are probably better purifiers out there but the Austin works best

The Many Uses on an Electrolux Vacuum

I never thought I’d write an article about vacuum cleaners, and it’s kind of a funny story how this came about. I was sitting at my keyboard surfing the internet, just passing the time. And for whatever reason, probably boredom, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that my keyboard was clogged and full of crumbs and dirt between the keys.  The first thing I tried was flipping the keyboard over to shake the dirt loose…no luck…hmm…I turned my attention back to the internet and began to search for a solution. After about 20 minutes of fruitless searching I came across a website selling a set of “Mini Vacuum Attachments” for detailed cleaning jobs. I quickly placed an order; it cost about $15. When the package arrived only a couple days later, I proceeded to pull out my dad’s ancient Electrolux canister vacuum from the basement. This metal vac is a champ. It’s at least 20 years old, but it’s still kicking—still packs a punch. From the mini attachments set I took out the mini crevice n

Prepare Your Home for Fall and Winter

Leaves are turning colors; a sign that fall will soon arrive. The official day for fall this year, 2012 is September 23, now is a good time to prepare your home for the autumn and winter days ahead.   Fall maintenance includes:           cleaning and inspecting the outside gutters           clean the dryer vent           have a technician inspect your furnace           replace the furnace filters           test your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors           store air conditioners           check for drafts and caulk around the windows          put up  storm windows         shampoo or steam clean your carpets  If you have a fireplace, have the chimney cleaned and inspected by a professional.  Now is a good time to gather the firewood near the hearth for those long cold winter nights. Sort and organize your seasonal decorations.  Winter quilts and throws can come out of storage.  It is time to think about changing your color theme.
